It’s not often that I throw praise to Mr. Richard Branson, however, after the truly tragic train crash in Cumbria last night, Branson has acted absolutely superbly. Clearly tired from dropping everything abroad, and flying back on the first jet available, he was at the accident spot within hours showing his respects to those who have suffered bereavement and sustained injuries in this awful crash. His example is a lesson to all CEO’s of corporations involved in human tragedy.
My thoughts, especially, are with the train driver - Ian Black - who put himself first to save the lives of others. He valiantly kept trying to keep the train as straight as possible and for as long as possible before disaster struck. He is a credit to Virgin Trains and the Police Force that he previously served. I wish him a speedy recovery. His actions may very well have saved the lives of many others. A sombre thought.
